A New Edible Chrysanthemum morifolium Cultivar‘Binjin 1’

Abstract: The new edible Chrysanthemum morifolium‘Binjin 1’is derived from the single bud of the ornamental chrysanthemum‘Jinlongtengyun’as the mother plant and was bred through asexual reproduction. Its capitulum type is semi-double,and its tongue florets are spoon type. The inflorescence is bright greenish-yellow,12.42 cm in diameter. Petals are crisp and sweet in taste,beautiful in color,which has long shelf life. The fresh food quality is good and have strong reproductive ability. The nature flowering period is from October to November. It is suitable for planting in Hebei Binhai area and other similar ecological areas. The yield is 22 500 to 25 500 kg · hm-2.
