Abstract:

‘Menglan’is a new early maturity and mini-type watermelon hybrid. The fruit characterized by round shape，green pericarp with blackish green stripes for 0.5–0.6 cm thickness，deep yellow flesh color，tender texture，good quality for 12% sugar content about in centery and 10% sugar content about in side. The fruit mass is 2.5–3.0 kg. The whole growth period is 107 d and the fruit development period is about 30 d in early spring. The yield is about 42 t · hm^-2. The cultivar is high resistance to low temperature and poor light. It is suitable for culture under protection in Jiangsu in spring.
