Abstract: Hedychium‘Yudie’is a new cultivar developed through artificial hybridization,using the native species H. coronarium as the female parent and the cultivar H. coccineum‘Orange Brush’as the male parent. The average height of a mature two-year-old plant is about 140.0 cm. It produces terminal spike inflorescences,with about 8.2 cm in length and 20 bracts. The bracts are arranged in a rolled-tube shape,and the flowers exhibit an elegant,jade-white coloration that gradually turns yellow in the later stage. The labellum is deeply lobed and slightly recurved,while the filaments and anthers are yellow. The fragrance of the flowers is relatively mild. Its blooming period occurs during summer and autumn,making it suitable for open-field cultivation in warm winter regions of South China or Southwest China,or as a medium-sized potted plant.
