Abstract: ‘Shujing 1’is a high-quality and high-yield new cultivar developed through systematic selection from the cultivated population of Polygonatum kingianum. The annual growth period is 365 days. The average height is 124.12 cm,with green stems. And the leaves are whorled or alternate,dark green,long and narrow,lanceolate,with gradually pointed and hooked tips. The average dry yield of rhizomes after four years of transplantation is 25 240.2 kg · hm^-2. All quality indicators meet the standards of Polygonati rhizoma in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia,such as the properties,identification,inspection,extractum and content. Among them,the extractum of Polygonati rhizoma is 68.7%,and the polysaccharide content is 14.8%. It is suitable for cultivation in the Qinling-bashan Mountains at an altitude of 500-1 000 m.
