Abstract: ‘Zhaoxia 1’is a T-DNA insertion mutant found in transgenic Betula platyphylla. The crown of the cultivar is umbrella shaped with drooping branches. The bark of the trunk is gray white and stratified，while the branches are reddish brown. The leaves are papery and wide ovate，and the color of leaves is bright yellow green in summer and golden yellow in autumn. Leaf apex is the tail tip，and the base of the leaf is truncated. The leaf margin is double serrated and shallow split. The fruit order is solitary and drooping，whereas the nut is oval.
