Abstract: The effects of rhizsphere heating on flower yields and quality of 7 species of Gerbera , which are grown under soilless condition , have been studied during winter time. The rhizosphere temperature is 20 ℃, 15 ℃and 7 - 11 ℃, respectively. The results showed that flower yield and quality were advanced by rhizosphere heating significantly , compared with no heating treatment . When it was heated to 20 ℃ at the rhizosphere , the increments of flower yield and stem length were 71. 34 % , 19. 14 % , respectively. The increased flower yield of rhizosphere heating were quite different among different cultivars of Gerbera tested. The most increments of flower yield and stem length were 90. 98 % , 28. 32 % , respectively.
