Abstract: mineral nutrition on development of stif lotus(Nelumbo,~cCera Gaertn．)were studied．results showed：①the contents of organic manure and efective mineral lements in stifen soil and noI／na]soil had rio significant diference；(1he IⅥn、Cu、Fe、 contents in son—rhizo~ of stif lotus were significantly higher than them in health lotus at 1％ level，while the Ca content was sign／ficantly lower at 5％ level；⑧1he son-rhizon' of stif lotus planted in lotus special medium and Soasland and Arrlon medium were also stifen，health lotus planted in 0．1％uI规were also hthy．So it can be confirmed that stif lotus was not caused by mineral elements deficiency．
