Abstract: In this research, some Chinese non-astringent persimmons were used as materials to identify the property of natural loss of astringency. By the determination of the soluble tannin content and the observation of the tannin cells in fruits flesh, it was found that size of tannin cell shrank, relative area oppcupied by tannin cell in per unit area flesh was also lower, and soluble tannin contentwas under 0.2%. Itwas suggested that‘Luotian-Tianshi’, ‘Baogai-Tianshi’and ‘Qiuyan-Tianshi’ (Eshi 1) , all belong to pollination constant non-astringent persimmon (PCNA).

Key words: Pollination constant nonastringent persimmon, Property of natural loss of astringency, Tannin
