Abstract: ‘Layou 22’is a high-quality CMS-based hybrid pepper bred for stuffed peppers,derived from the sterile line N582A（female）and restorer line Y09219（male）. This mid-maturity cultivar produces light green horn-shaped fruits（70.22 g,17.93 cm length,3.98 cm diameter）with premium quality：capsaicin（1.65 mg · kg^-1）,vitamin C（507 mg · kg^-1）,protein（12.9 g · kg^-1）,and soluble sugar（36.6 g · kg^-1）. Its average yield reaches 24 000 kg · hm^-2,with resistance to TMV and CMV,moderate resistance to blight,susceptibility to anthracnose and bacterial wilt. It is suitable for open-field and plastic film mulching cultivation in Guangdong during spring and autumn.
