Effects of 1-methylcyclopropene on Postharvest Physiology and Cell Ultrastructure of Pollination-constant and Non-astringent Persimmon DuringStorage

Abstract: The pollination-constant and non-astringent persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.‘Fuyu’) were used to investigate the effects of 0.50 μL·L-1 1-MCP treatment on fruits at room temperature (20 ±2) ℃ during storage. The results indicated that 1-MCP significantly retarded resp iration rate, ethylene production and fruit ripening. 1-MCP treatment inhibited the higher level of LOX activity and decreased accumulation of MDA content. Itmaintained the integrality of cell organelles and cellmembrane and postponed the fruit ripening process to a certain extent.
