A New Paphiopedilum Cultivar‘SCBG Chunyun’

Abstract

Abstract: ‘SCBG Chunyun’is a new Paphiopedilum cultivar developed by crossing two excellent strains of female parent Paph. primulinum and male parent Paph. wenshanense. The surface of leaves of the cultivar is deep-green and it covers white stripes and spots，the undersurface of leaves is green. The deep-green inflorescence with average 2.5 flowers is nearly erect，its average length is 7.8 cm，7.5 cm in average transverse diameter and vertical diameter. Sepals and petals are yellow-green with lots of purple-brown small spots. Labellum is near spherical and yellow-green with lots of purple-brown small spots also. Staminode is yellow-green and its central was dark-green. The flowering period is from March to August and the lifetime of a single flower is 30 to 35 d.
