Abstract

Abstract: ‘SCBG Wenfei’is a new Paphiopedilum cultivar developed by crossing two excellent strains of female parent Paph. wenshanense and male parent Paph. philippinense. This cultivar is characterized by strong growth vigor. The surface of leaves is light-green and have dark-green stripes，the undersurface of leaves are green-brown. The purple-brown inflorescence with 3 flowers is nearly erect，its average length is 9.8 cm with. The flower is 7.2 cm in average transverse diameter and 7.6 cm in vertical diameter. Middle sepals are ovate with acuminate apex. Petals are oblong and yellow with purple-brown stripes. Labellum is near spherical and yellow-green. The main flowering period is in April to May and the lifetime of a single flower is 25 to 30 d.
