A New Walnut Cultivar‘Lulai 1’

  1. ‘Lulai 1’is a new walnut cultivar selected from the seedling orchard in Jinan,Shandong. The nut is broad oval in shape and the average nut weight is 14.2–16.9 g. It is easy to take out the whole kernel for degraded dissepiment. The kernel rate,total fat and protein content are 46.7%,61.1%–62.3% and 18.5%–19.2%,respectively. The fruit mature in late August in Jinan and the diseased fruit rate is less than 5%. The yield is 3 024 kg • hm-2 in the seventh year after grafted.
