Abstract: ‘Fenghua 21’is a new watermelon cultivar crossed by inbred lines‘S4336’and‘S4331’. The fruit shape is spherical and the shape index is 1.05. The average weight of single fruit is 5.0–6.0 kg. The peel is green，covered with clear blackish green stripes and wax powder. The flesh is bright red，dense taste and delicious. The soluble sugar content is 11.4%. It is suitable for storage and long-distance transportation due to the peel toughness and crack resistance. The whole growth period is about 100 d and the fruit development period is about 31 d. It is middle resistant to Fusarium wilt. The yield under filed condition is up to 60 t ? hm-2.
