Abstract: Pathogenesis-related ( PR) proteins in the intercellular fluids of three pepper cultivars leaves were induced after treatments with 1 000 μg·mL - 1 β-aminobutyric acid (BABA). The results of enzymic assays showed that activities of β-1,3-glucanases, chitinases and POD were heightened in hot peppers more than that in sweat peppers.

Key words: Pepper, β-aminobutyric acid, PR protein, Enzymes activity
